I joined Fit by Design after being sidelined by a foot injury for over a year. I had lost over 50 lbs 2 years prior to my foot injury but with my time off from running the weight slowly crept back on.
I was embarrassed that I gained the weight back. I struggled just getting out the door for a walk let alone run or go to a class. But I saw a few posts about the classes and really was motivated by the community feel. When I arrived at my first class I did not know a soul and was feeling a bit apprehensive but people came right up and introduced themselves. I felt welcomed and supported from the get go. It is a place where women support each other, lift each other up and cheer each other on. I have to admit, the first class was an eye opener to how much work I had to do, I had to stop so many times and felt like I would never keep up. No one really noticed and my instructor gave me modifications so I could keep moving. I started with 2 classes a week and now some weeks I go 5 – 6 days in a row! The variety of classes and time choices ensure you are never bored and the instructors make sure you leave with a smile on your face! I never thought I would love 6 am classes, but now it’s the best way to start my day! |
LORILast August I was at a really low point in my life. Many things were piling on top of each other and I felt really down. I distinctly remember one night when my husband looked at me and told me "You are allowed to be happy."
