Recently I got to cheer my 2 older boys on as they ran a race. I got a little emotional as I saw the younger one come around the corner to the finish line. He is just so fast and light on his feet, he was flying! He loves to run and it comes easily and naturally to him. My older son has a a harder time running and I relate more to that, as running never came easy to me, it was something that I really had to work at. As he came toward the finish I was beyond proud of him, I could see he was tired but he was still pushing himself and working hard. When I met up with them after the race I was fighting big fat mommy tears, they make me so proud and I could see they were proud of themselves too. I feel a huge sense of pride in knowing that my love of running has influenced them and can only hope they will continue to love being active.
I don't know if my boys will always love running but I have to admit I have dreams of running in the Disneyland SuperHero's half marathon race one day with them. I already have our costumes planned ;)
