We headed up to Sun Peaks for a guided night tour, breath-taking!
I am not sure where it came from but this year I am LOVING winter. For years, honestly perhaps my whole grown up life, I have stayed in during the winter. I always got cold fast and didn't really see the fun in it. We have gone to cabins with our friends and while they were out skating, cross country skiing and sledding I would be inside reading or just being plain lazy. So why now after all this time have I fallin in love with being outside? I am thinking it could be the introduction of Snowshoeing perhaps or the laughter I have shared with my family as we fall off our sleds or the big hugs I get when I pick up Madie from the snow. Really it's a combination of all that & more. My husband ensured that I had all the warm clothes before we headed out and I have not felt cold at all. Each day over our holidays I made sure to get out for at least 30 minutes, my mom brought her skates up to Mile High Resort and left them for me & wouldn't you know it I was actually pretty good, impressed Kenzie that's for sure. I also felt that I was exercising while I was having fun, I made many of our outings into mini-workouts. By pulling Madie up the hills, running while I was snowshoeing and doing sprints in my mom's skates. Now that I have embraced these winter activities I have registered for my first Snowshoe 5k Fun Run in February and will train once/week. My girls & I have sharpened up our skates and plan on a weekly skate up at Pineview Valley rink. So my advice to you...get dressed up warm & get your butt OUTSIDE!!! Hopefully I will see you soon.
