Alright let's talk summer holidays and motivation. These are two words that do not seem to work well together. But can we start to change our perspective on this. What if you could maintain your current weight and fitness level over the holidays and not gain or lose your momentum? How about we try to make that our number one goal over the next 6 weeks. There are some out there that can set higher goals and manage to achieve them & even perhaps surpass them but that is not the average Canadian mother, now is it? So rather than beat yourself up and lose the self confidence you have WORKED SO HARD TO ACHIEVE over the past several months, stop, slow down and ENJOY your summer. Use your best judgement at family gatherings, bbq's and any other event that will cause you to make healthy choices. If you crave dessert, go easy on the hamburgers & hot dogs and have a piece of cake. If you could care less about sweets, enjoy that steak, just bring your own and be sure it is a lean cut and a reasonable portion size. I think you get my point. This new healthier you still has the same cravings it use to, now you have alternatives to help you stay on track. But please be sure to give it 100% at every class and look to those moms who can help inspire you to work harder & dig deeper. Seek them out & ask them what works for them, there are many heros in this group who can help guide you!
Well I was hoping to come on here next and say I had a loss but no..... :(
I do feel really good though!
I have had a little loss in inches (in the last week and a half, so that is good). I chatted with Sabrina and I have to agree with her that summer is a bit harder with all the BBQ's, weddings, get togethers and eating a little of this and that :( but the positive about this is, I have maintained! and that I feel good. Even with all my workouts that I am doing. I think as long as I am getting out and doing my bootcamp and feeling good the rest will come together, all in do time. (This week I will be watching my food intake and going on some jogs! so if any one is going out for a jog please call and get me out too!)
On a side note: I must say I think my kids like going to different parks each week it gives them a change of scenery :D and new adventures.
This week has been a struggle for working out wise, as it is not the same with out Sabrina and the ladies :S
ONLY 2 more days and the new session starts!!! :D
I have been staying on track making sure I get some exercise in, along with watching my calorie intake :) I have still been on track with my weight loss. I set a long term goal (which is losing 90-100 pounds that's my 10-12 month goal and that goal started back in January), then I set monthly goals which is 8-10 pounds a month.
Today I bought some Quinnoa! Yup my family will be trying something new! Now to find some yummy new recipes, kinda excited! This week I was also very lucky to go out with the boot camp momma's for Sabrina's birthday! it was great to get out and and have a girls night :D
Well this week was the last week for this session, very sad! It feels weird not running off to boot camp to see the ladies and Sabrina! :S
I also went on a trip to visit some family in Quesnel...I tell you its hard to stay on track with my calories! (my family does not keep track :S and you dont want to be rude and not eat while you are at someone elses house :S) So I was really making sure my food portions weren't too big! My will power was definatly tested this week :( I did give in to some chips and, to be honest, I could not drink a whole cooler, just cause I couldn't get out of my mind how many calories were in it, sounds funny I know!
I can't wait til the next boot camp starts! It should be fun for us moms and the kids will love going to different parks every week!
I miss Sabrina and you momma's!!!
So to Sabrina's night classes I go this week!
